This series comprises records retained by the office of the Secretary for Southern Asia and the Middle East of the Division for World Mission and Ecumenism (DWME) and pertains to the LCA's mission activities in the Middle East region. They are from 1965-1987 with the majority dating from 1968-1984. Material dating from the time of the LCA's Board of World Missions were kept in this series for continuity purposes. Records types include handwritten and typewritten business correspondence, background papers, planning records for seminars and study tours, survey reports pertaining to activities in the Middle East, and reports and correspondence from Middle East team consultations. The records are subdivided into the topical sub-series Coptic Orthodox Church, Holy Land Seminars, Middle East Team Consultation, Reports, and General Subject Files. The majority of records are correspondence pertaining to different aspects of the LCA mission to the Middle East and the local churches and other entities with which it had working relationships.
